Our Research

Our mission is to conduct and support research toward a personalized, predictive, and preventive cure for neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.

The Goals of NRI-Initiated Research We Conduct is To:

Better Understand
the Cause
Identify Early
Diagnostic Techniques
Make Meaningful Scientific Contributions to Find a Cure

NRI-Initiated Research

The NRI believes we can best achieve our goals by focusing on four areas.

01

AI & Machine Learning

Synthesize the data to identify significant correlations and signatures

02

Genetics

Perform gut microbiome sequencing and targeted human genome sequencing

03

Biomarkers

Test for early diagnosis

04

Patient & Family History

Understand potential familial and environmental factors

The Research We Support

The NRI collaborates with innovative partners, such as Cortex.

A major challenge faced by clinical trials is finding patients to participate. Most researchers only have access to those within driving distance of an academic institution, which only accounts for 15% of patients.

Cortex connects researchers to the remaining 85%, empowering more trials to get off the ground.
